American Fridge Freezer

I am looking to buy an american fridge freezer. Please don't ask why, the kitchen isnt my department, I am just paying for it apparently...

We have a space of 900mm wide to fit one in, and we would ideally like it plumbing free and a metallic finish.

I have been looking at a few and this one seems to hve the best reviews:

I have found it for around £825 online with free delivery. Does anyone know anything better, for around £800-£900 mark?

Check Ebay. We've just picked up a Fisher & Paykel for next to nothing, compared to the RRP, and its fabulous. You might also want to check reviews on the LG & Samdung ones for the amount of problems...

when you say you have a 900 gap, the door will not open if it is tight to a wall, just thought I should tell you just in case you didn't know

Yeah, don't worry. its actually 930 and is open ended on one side, so there is room.

just check, but I'd say no, the doors are usually about 100mm think and pivot right on the edge of the fridge, I usually house them between two units and due to the depth they can open ok. I wouldn't want you to buy one and find you could'nt open the doors

If it has a water dispenser then Google the part number as and when you need a replacement!

CURRYS wanted £180 (you had to buy in 3s).

I can get mine delivered for under £13

You definitely want to get a plan (top) view diagram to make sure. We have an actual American one, a Maytag, and you ideally need to be able to open the doors through something like 135 degrees. Ours sits with the main part of the body flush with its surrounding and then the doors stick out. That's how they're supposed to be.

Also make sure you can get it in through the house doors!

There are a few folks on Ebay who sell the Smeg FFs with slight dinks in unseen locations (like the top) but with full warranty.

I got mine from Comet Clearance - I got a brand new (with one small dent) samsung one - mains water connection (was in currys for £990) for £205 (delivered).

Well worth a shot - far cheaper than Ebay.
