not seen it yet, but hoping it takes as dark a twist as the books did at this stage.

Not so sure about that with this one, it opens with a woman being tortured, murdered then eaten by a snake. Not very family!

Have to say it's an excellent film, better than I expected.

I really enjoyed it. It follows the book much closer than any of the others have, however, if you haven't read the books I feel it might be a bit confusing at times.

Great film. Best of the lot.. Very dark in places, some kids are going to have nightmares!

Saw The Potter this evening.

Its not bad, darker, but still suffers from what a lot of the book suffered from, namely spending so bloody long in that sodding forrest!

Apart from that...good film smile

Just seen this, and i thought quite a good film! But as mentioned, parental guidance is the operative word for any young kids i think, really quite frightening in places!

I did think it could have done with about 15mins lopping out of the forest / lost scenes, it pretty much seemed like they were going to pitch there tent in every single UK place of natural beauty.

(also, good fun trying to name all the bit part actors, it's a dam A-Z of the UK's finest acting talent ;-)

I think it's dark for the type of film it is, not a horror film level of dark but it's very dark for what is a kids film primarily. Watched a couple of the early ones today on Sky and they are quite bright and fun, the new film has a totally different feel to it.

I thought it was pretty good actually, I'll agree that in the middle it drags a bit, it's not often that I'm wishing for a musical montage! In fairness though, given some of the locations they were making sweeping panning shots over, I didn't mind watching it.

Its is pretty dark for what is effectively a kids film though, it felt very middle-of-trilogy, the dark before the sun, bit like Empire Strikes Back or something.
