Explosion near Balloch

Anyone know what this was about? A friend of mine's girlfriend saw the hundreds of police cars yesterday and now there is this report:

Theres been chat for years about gangs using secluded parts around that area for stashing weapons... could well be this was a stash thats accidentally went off or something.
I doubt its "terrorist" related.. that my feeling.
When I worked for the council, there'd occasionally be stories about the Forestry Comission finding cache's of buried shells from WW2, apparantley buried incase of an invasion and forgotten. There's a couple of old pill boxes dotted around Gartmore, so could possibly check out. Was certainly my first thought when I saw it on the news.I doubt its "terrorist" related.. that my feeling.
