The pilot, Capt Captain Jeffrey Haney, is still missing, it is not known whether he died in the crash or bailed out and is incapacitated somewhere. Not a great topic for the above jokes TBH.

"Though the officials
confirmed the news of plane crash, they did not disclose the identity of the pilot, who was flying the jet"

you have inside information, or the story has been updated now?

Yeah you're right. Form the thread title we could all tell that it was not a joking matter.

Get a grip.

An aircraft is "lost" They don't carry around 50 hours of fuel. It's highly likely that it has crashed isn't it?

What do you think happened to it?

Ok it's lost. Do you think it's been misplaced or something?

Of course there's enough information to tell if something serious is likely to have happened.

If anybody was offended by my off-the-cuff, tongue-in-cheek reference to a fictional aircraft I deeply and unreservedly apologise.

Pistonheads has changed.

A plane has crashed and there's a good chance the pilot is dead, stop being such a fking tool and just accept you were wrong to crack jokes about the loss of someones life.

The plane was lost on the 16th so it's not looking good for the pilot.

At about US$350M each, I don't imagine they want to be losing too many of these birds. I thought that the pilots of these things were equipped with locator beacons. Hopefully he is dug in out of the cold and will be found alive.

I was under the impression that a "stealth" aircraft would be more difficult to locate.... assuming that as the aircraft is "cutting edge" so also would the material it was constructed from..

Also... what's the picture all about?
