Bit of back story first..
The Pulsar GTiR is not known for it's reliability, so some may find it an odd choice for a track based car. Believe me, since starting this project i've wondered what the hell I was thinking at times as well. BUT, The very idea of a 4x4 2ltr turbo hatch back is in my mind, bonkers and one of the reasons why i've lusted after one for so long. Yes, there are much more accomplished machines available today and i'm sure some of the quick diesels will be faster than it in gear, but none are as quirky as this thing.
I decided early on that i'd try my damndest to do as much of my own spannering as possible. Prior to this my mechanical skills had stretched to a failed oil change after a stuck oil filter, so readied myself for mistakes to be made, and it's a good job I did, as you'll soon find out. So far i've only thrown in the towel once and had it fixed by a 3rd party (D.C.M.S In Burnley) who were brilliant.
Well enough of the waffle, here's a shortened version of my main build thread..
I picked up a completely standard late GTiR towards the end of April 2009, and it looked as if my wish of having to fix my own cars came true right away when the clutch master cylinder gave up on the way home.

I then did something rather stupid, which meant I missed a track day at the Nurburgring
It's all fixed now, and I've gone a slightly different direction with the car. At presnt it's the only car I own, and as some of you know, i'm chasing women. The stripped totally stripped out, high sided bucket seats didn't really work in that respect.
So, I removed the front half of the cage, fitted carpet, and got some slightly more habitble seats. Car is a lot nicer to drive on the roads now and is still what i would called "focused".
So that's that, Cadwell next weekend, can't wait!

It was nicked from outside his flat about 6 months ago i think, they had ragged it from cold and blew the engine i think . . .
Total shame if that's the case, though I can only find one thread from him and he didn't go into any detail really. Has not posted in months either, which is unfortunate as I'd be interested to hear what happened to it.
