My Sister in Law has just called my Mrs and asked if we would be the Guarantor for a House she wants to rent.

She has always paid her Council rent and I have no reason to believe she will not pay in her new Home plus it will get her and her 2 kids into a much better area.

Are their any pitfalls or things I should be looking into ?

Obviously the biggi is us having to pay the rent if theirs a problem !

Can you afford to pay it should she default? If not I would be wary as it puts a lot onto yoou. Not saying she will default but things happen.

However blood is thicker than water. Would she do things like this for you if the situation was reversed?

If you're happy with the risk then got for it. It will help them out and will hopefully get you lots of gratitude and thanks.

Well no it would probably be pretty difficult for us if any problems arose ..... I'll do some research tonight.

Thanks for the quick reply !
