Following in the same vein as a number of recent posts on here re dealers taking liberties with customers' M cars, it is not restricted to BMW dealerships. A ridiculous story of Main Audi Dealer taking liberties at http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&f...

Hearing someone bounce your pride & joy off the limiter with a cold engine - not vaguely amusing. To be told by the Dealership that they were "warming the oil" - now that would leave the best of us scathing I'm sure. Incredible.

fking disgrace.....makes me boil!

I had a similar experience with an Evo one Saturday.....in for a service......went to McDonalds nearby for some breakfast and to kill time.....saw my pride coming sideways round the roundabout when on a final "road check"

Long story short......lost control of myself with the monkey (for the first time in my adult life) and was pulled away from him as I tried to get him......was not charged for the service.....and very luckily not for assault either.

Never went back.

Even more dispicable than the behaviour of the workshop guy driving the cars, is the borlacks that the managers try and give the owners when they are caught out .... I'd at least have some respect for them if they'd 'fess up and do the right thing with a massive discount on the work done.

I have a handy little GPS tracker for my car for services after reading too many stories like these. Fortunatley it's never recording anything more than gentle drive up the road.

Hold on, not for one minute saying its acceptable but this reads as a bit of a result to me. The guy basically heard & saw his RS4 being ramped down the road next to the dealership (after its had a service as he was walking back to pick it up), he complained (rightly so..) and got the below??

Problem sorted. Nick Hilton phoned and are refunding my service costs and giving me a yr extension on my warranty worth £2000 apparently. I'm happy with this.

Yes - a revision since originally posted after advice from others. The dealer came good on this occaision after involving the DP, which is fair play to them.

Interesting. Where do you conceal it though? Say you left it in the boot--does the reception still work?

It needs to see the sky really, i just wedge mine on the parcel shelf. Its pretty small and grey doubt anyone would pick up on it.

Thats right, its a logger not a tracker. You need to get the device back to download the data.

Does it log the speed the car is moving at?

Yep, and it's pretty darn accurate (GPS in general, as I don't actually have this device)
