Just created bolognese with lamb mince... and pineapple chunks.

It's incredible.

Putting this out there because this knowledge has to be shared.

Lamb goes beautifully with fruit.

Tagine with apricots... Redcurrant jelly...

Just don't - for the love of God - don't call your concoction Bolognese unless you want to wake up with a horse's head in your bed.

I know, I know... but that leads to cheddar having to come from the gorge and so on... I'm more than happy with this stuff as a pasta sauce and it's no less bolognese than that which is in a traditional spagbol...

Ah... Italian lady on Desert Island Discs yesterday reckons 'bol' and 'spag' do not mix, unless to illicit local laughter.

Sure, the OP's sauce tastes lovely, but its not bolognese, and has even less cause to be paired with spaghetti.

Excellent choice - the Italian lady on the Desert Island reckoned penne was the way to go. biggrin

I never saw the attraction of spaghetti in general - it's awkward to eat and seems to go cold much faster than other pasta. I'd much rather have a nice penne or fusilli.

but spaghetti works well with sauces that go with it (normally quite thing, liquidy, often creamy sauces) - they wouldn't be much good with penne because its too fat.

Dare I say it, but authentic ragu a la bolognese, from your actual Bologna, is a little....delicate. Ok....bland.

There, I said it.
