Hi

We are thinking of chopping in our 7y old mini

When we bought it the chilli pack was a no brainer
It had most of the toys we wanted at a better price than speccing them individually plus some others which were essentially 'free'

Ive just been looking at the Mini website and the option packs just dont seem to be such good value
eg the Pepper pack is over a grand and really only has air con which wed want
The chilli at 2.5k looks even worse value

Any thoughts out there from recent buyers?
What did you go for?

Cheers

I bought a showroom car, as they had one with all I wanted and of course I didn't have to wait!

Chilli pack - options I wanted such as Xenons, auto air-con and 17" wheels. The added bonus of bluetooth, half leather etc where things I would not have specified but considered to be nice to haves so went for the pack (though I'm sure it was just under £2k).

Multi function steering wheel - was £175 iirc and you get control for the stereo, phone as well as cruise thrown in.

Chrome-line interior - didn't like the plastic surrounds for the speedo etc (I think these have now been changed).

Chrome line exterior and wing mirrors - the mirrors are ace. The rest isn't worth bothering with.

Piano black inserts - I'm a big fan of this.

Metallic paint - I have a habit of buying black cars.

I would have gone for the Harmon-Kardon HiFi too (but probably not the chrome exterior). The benefit of the packs is that you can value the car at that spec but if you plan on keeping for another 7 years then I suggest getting the brochure and a piece of paper and just list what you want (then cut it back to something a bit more realistic!).

Out has most options. The sports pack comes with a subtle body kit, painted arches and black wheels.

Much less in your face than the works body kit.
