Knowing that many contributors believe that Unions are dead (just resting actually)I do wonder if the biggest Union of all will bite the dust, European Union?

No, this is the end game, grasping the final prize.

Checkout this - ceding more power to the EU.

The EU empire project has not stalled, it will not 'fail', this is the culmination of a movement and plan started in 1944 known as The Fourth Reich.

The EU is not an 'accident' or the thoughts of a group of hippes caring and sharing across europs, like so many naive retards seem to think, it's a solid plan for total power and control over europe. These are guys that take our money, rights and democracy away.

They are within a hairs-breadth of grasping the whole of Ireland. They already have Greece. It looks like Portugal will be next to fall.
The IRA thought the English were their enemy, while all along blissfully unaware of the honey-trap that is now closing for them.

Why?
Because PistonHeads is owned by Haymarket. Haymarket was founded by Michael Heseltine, a leading Europhile and a man who devoted a good deal of his life to attempting to counteract Euroscepticism both in the British press (where it is practically the only game in town) and in the Conservative party. I agree with him, but from what I see on PistonHeads he wasted his time.

Oh I see! In fact Howe, Clark, Heseltine, Brittan, Major are all implicated in the downfall of not Just Thatcher but Britain, rendering the conservative party unelectable, and the gut churning relentless complicity in dealing with the EU.

The most hilarious euro-scepticism I saw was when the French and the Dutch and the Irish voted NO.

Less funny was the EU ignoring the results. The French and Dutch No votes to the Constitution were ignored, 26 out of 27 European countries were denied a referendum, and the one (Ireland) was forced to vote again until it got the "right" result. Then, an un-elected President and an un-elected Foreign Secretary were appointed, in secret, under the terms of a treaty no-one got to vote on.

Then they fail to have their accounts audited for 16 years while telling _us_ what to do, evento the point of a 6% increase in budget at a time when we are all cutting back.

So the question of people on PH (who generally have jobs and a future) supporting a hostile foreign fascist takeover of their countries and way of life is probably pretty certain wink

Quite why anyone would welcome living under a fascist dictatorship puzzles me - so please tell me, why do you?

I'm still not convinced democracy with its voting chasing vs good of the country is such a brilliant idea.

I have almost zero say in how the country is run and i would happily give that up if it was run well.

Ooh dear - I never realised it was as bad as that. Old Adolf's ideas still live? There's a turn up.

A solid plan for total power and control over europe? All 27 countries are being led like lambs to the slaughter? I must get my tin hat and gasmask out

And you find all this out from your links to The Mail and The Telegraph. Must be true then yes

I am pleased for you. Really I am. It must be so nice for you and those like you, sitting there feeling so smug and righteous. So those of us that don't agree with being subsumed into something that none of us voted for, is largely unaccountable, and which represents the most appalling waste and corruption in the western world can be dismissed as rabid and hilarious eh?

Tell you what, why don't you give us all a break and enlighten us eh? With your all knowing and all seeing eye you can surely educate us poor, ignorant plebs as to the vitues and merits of the EU. We crave your enlightenment, we yearn for your knowledge so that we too may be comforted that, contrary to what we may see as an undemocratic, corrupt, meddling quasi fascist state seizing power surreptitiously from sovereign states courtesy of conniving politicians, the EU is in fact something to be embraced, notwithstanding it's obvious flaws.

Cos, you see, if you can't share the vision, I'll be forced to conclude that you're just another one of those chattering tts who so easily dismiss reasoned argument as prejudice or little englanderism. You'd be the guy on top of the sky scraper in Independance Day, holding up the placard saying "Hello ET, welcome!"... just before it gets zapped with the death ray.
No doubt you"d be as smug then too, right up till you got your arse blown to bits.....

I read your general 'it can't be true' view, but nowhere do you actually deny anything or give any facts.

It's pretty plain, in 1944 there was a plan to take over europe in exactly the manner that the EU and ECB now have, this plan is available to read and study, yet this all passes you by and instead you think you need a tinfoil hat?

What part of this documented conspiracy do you deny? Is is that you think the document doesn't exist? Do you know about WWII? Have you heard of the EU? Are you aware of the euro?

Come on - what part are you failing to understand??

Perhaps you need to ask The Swiss, there isn't much democracy anywhere else.

I think that pretty much answers your question. Again, I'd point you towards the Swiss.

As for happily giving up your power, be happy in the knowledge that politicians love you.

I still say i would happily give up my cross in a box every five years for a decent set of leaders

Won't ever happen but we can dream.

And I still say that the Swiss have decent leaders because their 'cross in the box' is much more powerful than ours...

I.e. the less power the people have (demo-cracy = people-power) the more st the leaders are. That's why we get the euroturd leaders in the UK all the time - at election time we have one chance to register our disgust, and that's the limit of our power.

Right, where shall we start? smile

There are some Eurosceptic views posted on PH that I have some time for. Not many, but some.

I am old and ugly enough to have been around the block a few times and I can recognise the majority of "documented" conspiracy theories for what they are. There's a technical term for it - what is it now? - oh yes, Bullshyte.

That's why I posted some links for you. If you don't already know these people, you might find some friends to keep you company on cold winter nights. Especially Tony Gosling - have a look at his site. Umpteen pages of "documented" conspiracy theories that are the biggest load of claptrap that I have yet to find on the internet. If the man ever got a grip on reality he might be dangerous, but I don't think there's much chance of that happening just yet. smile

Ever since we joined the Common Market as it was called then, the UK press has been having a field day rubbishing anything and everything European. In truth, its simply a continuation of rubbishing everything that Jonny Foregner does, and that has been going on since the press was invented.

Unfortunately, the EU hasn't helped itself, and I freely admit that. Perhaps one of the biggest lies ever to have got into the UK psyche has been "the unelected EU forcing stupid laws on us." No they don't. They issue directives that national governments then interpret and put into domestic law. We have got more bleedin' stupid EU related laws in this country than in the majority of the others because Whitehall over-interprets the bloody things, then happily sits back and lets the EU take the blame.

Let me give you a couple of tips on how to spot bullshyte in a newspaper report. The use of the word "urge" is a dead giveaway. Example: "Hermann Von Rumpoy will urge the Commission tomorrow to give him tax raising powers." This translates to: "Von Rompuy has got a daft idea in his head that he knows the member states won't support, but he'll run the flag up the pole anyway just to see if anyone salutes." Its not going to happen - the Germans wouldn't stand for it, the French wouldn't stand for it, the Brits certainly wouldn't stand for it, but none of that is going to stop the UK press building up a non-story of old Hermann being the direct descendant of Kaiser Bill with a hidden agenda to take over the world.

Any newspaper that uses the term "EU conspiracy" should be used for its proper purpose. Tear the pages up into small squares, and hang them on a nail in that small room just outside the back door - the one with the cistern in it.

But of course, you probably think thats all "head in the sand" stuff. Perhaps you think "this bloke's a fool - he can't see the dangers." You might think (and certainly others do around here) that David Cameron will simply capitulate to Europe like all his predecessos have done. Perhaps I can see the real danger that you can't - if Cameron did try to get someting EU related through Westminster that flew in the face of his pledge in his manifesto, he'd split the Tory party and have to call an election that he knows he wouldn't win. There's an example of a real danger for you, not the conspiracy-theory imagined ones.

I am not going to argue on your terms about your conspiracy theories because I would be wasting my time. You are so clearly convinced that it is all gospel truth that I doubt reasoned debate would be possible.
