Loosing faith in mankind...........

I consider myself to be a good person, serving my country in different war zones and I have seen people doing some awful things to each other, but back home I like to think people are generally good, honest people.
So when I sold my gearbox from my cerbera on pistonheads (a pistonheads member) and the guy said he couldn't get to the bank straight away to put money into his bank that he uses for paypal, I said "dont worry about it, ill send you the box and you just send me a cheque" as I had purchased the replacement box off him anyway a few months back so thought I could trust him.
After 1 week, no cheque, rang and he says he has posted it, another 2 weeks and no sign of it so I say to cancel it and just paypal me, he agrees and I wait another week, still no money. I ring and he says sorry, paypal wont let him transfer the money, can he put it straight into my bank account. Fine I say (getting a bit annoyed) another 2 weeks and he's now not answering his phone

Im not sure what to do next, I have his address and im considering going over with half my Sqn and removing his front door. ...... But i guess thats a bad idea..... So is there a more legal route?

Im pissed off more than anything that you can't trust people these days, especially in the Cerbera community.

There are t**ts all over the place bud,my own familly have ripped me off in the past.Sorry to change subject but how is cerb/oil pressure,just wondering as was intersted in seeing car if she is still for sale.Did email you about sale and was waiting for your house move to view

Name and shame if its that bad, embarass him into paying or at least getting in touch. Maybe a legit reason but after this long i doubt it. Loads of forums have a good/bad buyer/seller section.

Only got back yesterday so will be looking into it tomorrow, its on about 40psi till hot, then about 15... just a bit low for my liking, will keep you posted once I have it sorted, im down in RAF Odiham now so it you fancy coming for a look let me know.

As for a name and shame, as big All says, no-can-do, Ill leave him a voicemail then if I hear nothing will have to look at an exercise upto Hinckley

Hold on Al. Someone is taking goods and not paying for them, and hiding behind PH name & shame rules? Absolute tosh. I would certainly want to know if someone was trying to obtain goods off me and there was a high probability of them not paying for them.

i agree with that theres to sides of a store and some need protecting ,
but surely if someone is using the name and shame rules for dodgy acts and hiding behind ph name its ph that gets had over.
we come on here with a love of cars to talk and help each other if poss not to rip each other off
so if one does then they should be named and ashamed,
everyone has the right of free speech DONT they
i for one would want to know if theres a dodgy cerbera gear box fixer out there , not to go there before
i lost my money

Hope you get it sorted. Without knowing the other parties circumstances it's diffcult to imagine the reasons why this might have happened. I support the no name n shame otherwise the bullying that goes on on PH would escalate.

I've bought similar from same location but went and collected in person to be on the safe side, not straight forward but eventually sorted in the end.
