new carbon bits :-)

well after developing some alloy front arch infill plates i decided to see if i can get some made in carbon , after a few weeks of development i had chance today to fit my new ones today , very pleased they look great and are alot lighter .







they are made of 2 layers of carbon with a 2mm core ,fixed through the chasis with stainless bolts and screws .

if anyone is interested in a pair i can get more made cost is £280 +p&p. Tux

Simon you need a support on the leading edge, one of mine let go at about 190 mph, It started to bend down and once the wind got it, it pretty much self destructed.

Thanks Adrian , you cannot see it in the photo but there is a bolt fixing at the front edge which should hold it ................. I also cannot do 190mph so probably going to be ok :-) :-) :-)

I would go with a set of those, along with set of front boomerang type splitters ( bondy style) what do you think Simon, in real carbon of-course!!! Wouldn't dream of any think else

I have to ask Simon, but have you weighed them compared to the ally ones. does it make much difference (apart from knowing you have carbon fibre, real carbon fibre. lol)

I bought a pair off Simon way back last year (don't know if he has any left) and they are nice bits of stuff but amongst everything else took ages to fit and sort. If you fit fillers like this you do need to have a splitter fitted and in the light of the above fitted some additional supports. I don't pretend these are good engineering but hey they can't do any harm....
