Well to be fair the GTR was WAY quicker from a start and in the corner, but everything changed when it was a 2 mile straight! The track was wet and very slippy so the M5 didn't stand a chance in the corner or from a dig, BUT when we hit the back straight it was a good win for the M5!

Good work, nice to see you are flying the flag for M Power. Was that at V Max?

The M5 aint exactly stock but yeah, the GTR would be quicker. In fact, the GTR is quicker than just about anything on the road. But isnt it just a bit too obvioius? There are so many around and are just not that intersting any more. Nobody wants to race them other than bikers, thats just boring if you own one. Not for me im affraid.

The GTR is WAY quicker from a start, and in corners and on a track not a lot will touch it. Not wanting to take anyting away from what is one of the quickest cars around, HOWEVER, with a topspeed of just 193 it is not even remotely special on a long run. As I said round the bends and from a start the GTR toally anilated me! But on a long run it doesn't stand a chance combined with a power draining 4 wheel drive system not much does against even a standard M5. Even standard with the 7 speed gear box and a top end of 204, the GTR does not stand a chance against the M5. Above 100mph the M5 is in a league of it's own, or certainly a league shared by very few supercars. Mod the M5 to 590bhp, and it is does exactly what you saw, walk away very easily from the GTR on a straight. Check out the Vmax section and see the other videos and speeds from the weekend. The GTR will kill just about anything on a track and that includes me on anything but a long straight or a motorway. Good example, the last Vmax when I had just 540bhp against a Lamborghini gallardo 520, same story http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NdEm-cdzMs

Also had 3 people in the car smile

Actually after my last post! Here is the video FROM the GTR! You can see he kills me from the start then gives it everything on the straight! smile

IMHO from someone who has free choice of a works car pool including an M5 & GTR (plus exotica including an F430) I've driven the GTR the most this year as it is such a blast (and I love my ///M cars).

M5 is awesome all round package, GTR is just bonkers what you can get away with off track ;-)

A bit chalk and cheese though. The M5 is a super saloon that will carry 4 and their luggage in style and comfort. The GTR is a 2 seater sports car/supercar eater. its also fugly IMHO and too big.

I think from the vid in the GTR the driver is is a little surprised by how much the M5 is pulling.

The last comment at the end of the vid made me chuckle as well, the passenger says "what sort of brakes thats got?" (I presume meaning what BHP)

The driver says, "Huge brakes!"...lol!!

Chief, what have you got under the hood, as they say in parts of San Diego?

Like the variant that came before it, the e60/63 M5 remains a staggering all rounder and as can be sampled (where legal) will pulverise horizons with withering effect.

The GT-R really does remind me of a digital, hyper Noble; to wit, yes, invincible (amongst tin tops) through the twisties.

Somehow, not having one seems to be as cunning as morris dancing whilst impersonating L Grayson before a baying mob of fully alcoholised C18 headhunters.
