Am I mad to even be considering one of these? I think they look pretty nice and would be quite comfortable (non S-line), plus this one I've seen is a bit of a bargain.

Are they truly terrible cars? It's the shape before the present one, 57 plate, 1.8T, for £9250. Basic spec though!

Not terrible, but not great. You'll be bored after 1 drive.

30mpg, basic se spec, non s-line, it will depreciate heavily with no spec and non s-line. As a saloon or estate it would be 'okay' but in a cab, no ta, looks awful.

My wife bought one earlier this year, it's a 2003 car but is amazing condition with only 40k miles.
It's a lovely thing, not fast but it's got enough to keep up with traffic. Handling is ok but a bit wallowy, it just feels very nice to trundle about in.
At that price you really should consider it.

Yeah, I was thinking that... It would just be a car to get around in really, maybe enjoy the slower side of life. Depreciation-wise it would be OK-ish I guess, buying it for £9250?

I'd get an earlier year of the same model. Will take some to the depreciation cost out of it.
