I'm in Devon, with the wallet.

Wife at Heathrow - has everything, passport, plane tickets, dollars for a week of small transactions in Senegal, but no wallet or cards for paying the hotel bill / anything else. Plane leaves in 2 hours.

She's currently trying to find a mate in London to lend some cash - but other than that, what's the options?

If she has the number of her cards, will anyone accept just a number?

Eek!

Can she get one of those pre pay cards and you top it up from home?

If the hotel is reserved on a credit card they'll just charge that anyway, likely they dont care who's paying as long as they get the money. Could always call and pay over the phone then courier the card tomorrow

Hotels can be persuaded to take payment by a third party, normally involves sending a fax agreeing to the payment, I have done this a few times to pay for employees who do not have a card.

If the hotel need something as security until this is set up them holding her passport may be possible, but try to avoid this.

Other possibilities include you couriering her cards to her (fedex or dhl) or using western union for a cash transfer - there is bound to be an agent for them nearby in Senegal.

Western Union money transfer.

There's a branch in terminal 3. Pay the money to her online and she should be able to collect it as cash from the branch.

Bingo! Travelex have airside facilities where you can get the cards.

Good suggestions, thanks. She's going to try somewhere at the airport to get some more money out just using the card number.

Reckon she'd get a pre-pay card at Heathrow?

I'm sure something can be sorted out with the Hotel, and we do have a week to do that, but seeing as how their phone number doesn't work, I'm not holding out hope for internet bank transfers.

Beaten to it but this

Or even do the transfer straight to Senegal and she can pick it up when she gets there

She can definitely get a pre-pay card using the passport as ID. There is a Travelex branch airside in T3 and probably the others too.
