What would you like to see on the btcc package

The btcc has been as good as its been for many years in my view but the support champonships this year i think have been very disaponiting.
The 2 ginetta champonships are good escpecially the g40 champonhsips good way of youngsters to get in to motorsport, g50 are good but should a gt champonship be on the btcc package.
Formula renault never liked it shouldnt be on the package.
Renault clio cup been good for many years however gone down hill this year with low grid numbers and being expensive to run a car.
Porsche carraera cup strong grid this year for the first time in many years and looking strong next year however very boring to watch, races way to long and normally i go of and do something else and should a gt champonhsip being on the btcc package.
What i would like to see is a junior version of the btcc as a stepping stone for drivers and teams to get there foot in first before spending loads of money in most times a underpowered car, but have a cap on what the teams can do with the cars keep as close to stock as possible.
Ford fiesta should be there cheaper cars than the clios and i perfer fiesta to clios anyway.
Classic touring car series of some sort but do it for ex btcc cars of different era's i think that would be good to see the old cars back on track and for a place to use them.

I agree. A classics race would be great.I also thought the weekend where they had the formula fords along was brilliant. Ditch FR and put FF in if we're to have an single seater.

They also had a Truck Racer doing a demo at Donington
That was something 
Problem is the classic stuff is raced by enthusiasts, its going to be expensive to keep up with the BTCC calendar, even if they only did 1 race per weekend.

Obviously this will never happen, bit i've always said they should have a guest race from the Motor Club local to each circuit.
e.g, Northern Saloon & Sports at Croft, Scottish Sports & Saloons at Knockhill, Northwest Sports & Saloons at Oulton Park etc etc.
Club meetings are generally badly attended and this would give the BTCC "once a year" visitors an idea of what they miss at their local track.

Only problem with having 'classic' touring cars on the same bill would be they would totally overshadow the headline event! A multi class race featuring Thundering Chevy Camaro's, Awesome RS500's & some mid 90's super tourers versus some Honda civics & Chevrolet Cruzes no contest!
To be honest though, the toca package is fairly good although as someone said formula Fords would be great & the porsches could do with losing a couple of laps! The mixture of single seaters & tin top/gt races works well for me though.

I think Caterham R300's should be on the package, I've even suggested it to Caterham but they say they can't really make a business case for it because of the entry fees they would need to charge.
Also, I'm biased but FWIW, I thought the racing was pretty good in Carrera Cup this year, there was just too much focus on the lead two in terms of TV coverage. Plenty of argy bargy in the following groups that was never seen.
Next year should be fantastic, playing field levelled with the new car, lots of people in it to win, and 32 car grids

i agree that the support series is something which lets the package down but we should remember we are just coming out of a tough economic downturn and the money isnt there for many teams.
However, if i could pick the supoort bill i would do everything in my power to get the pick up trucks and legends (5/8 scale american looking things) supporting the series. they are two fantastic series with great racing

If you look back over the history of support races, I agree that single seaters may not be the way to go. I like the idea of a race for the local club championships. That would give good coverage to local clubs who have no mormal way to get advertising on the TV.
I think the support of Ginetta has been fantastic and maybe see if they could tie in another championship with the support package, but then it might just get into the Ginetta show. I like the Porsche support races. They may be long, but the big grids at the end of this season gave some brill racing down the back.

Then once the line up is more like it used to be in the '90's then it doesn't matter what the support races are.

You had a Classic Race,Formula Ford,Clio's (I think?), Fiestas and was it also TVR's ??
My mind might be mixing years up but they have all been there at some time, as have (was it called Formula Vauxhall Lotus?)single seaters and also I recall a Vectra one make along with Ventos??
It's not bad now, for me ditch F.Renault and bring in F.Ford and ditch Clio's and bring in maybe MINI's ??

If they could "steal" the VW cup from the British GT, that's usually a good show.
The 90s had various - FFord, FRenault, FVauxhall, Clios, Fiestas, Vectras (briefly) at a time. Personally I don't go to enough BTCC meetings for it to upset me but it's the same with all these one-make championships - it's generally hard to get excited by the lack of miscellany. It's not terribly interesting exploring the paddocks and finding 20 identical cars in every championship...
