Last winter was my busiest season covering nearly 10,000 miles across even mix of city motorways and untreated roads in my old rwd estate (has no traction stability or other electronic aids) last year was absolutely fine on Goodyear Hydra. These now seem no longer available in my size, now totally confused should i opt for all-season or dedicated winter tyre this time around for mostly southern UK?

The following are within negligible price difference.

Kumho KU31
Kumho KW27
Kumho KH21
Falken HS439
Nokian V
Nokian eNTRE
Nokian W+
Nokian Z G2
Hankook V12 K110
Hankook K105
Hankook W300
Hankook W310
Toyo Snowprox S 953

As above, WR G2s are perfect for the UK unless you live somewhere that gets snow for months at a time. (I wouldnn't run them in the summer) If you are losing the will to live there are some long threads here which will put you to sleep . . . lots of people wanting tractor tyres on their cars to deal with the frost wink

Sizes? The price of winter tyres are very unstable at the moment.

Try www.tyremen - online place, good rep. Might have some Vredestein Snowtrac3's in which will be a good alternative to the Nokians.

From your list, don't get the Hankook V12's - I ran them last winter and they were bloody awful in snow and ice - borderline dangerous.
