mg zr engine up grade

has any one fitted an engine from a rover 800/820 turbo
is it a direct fit to the zr 120 gearbox or do you need to use the turbo box
what else do you need to change

I think the 820 used a T-series, so a completely different engine to the K-series in the ZR. I'd imagine that both the engine mounts and gearbox mounts are completely different.

It would probably be much cheaper to fit a VVC or turbo K-series.

My mate has got a 2.0 turbo engine out of a Rover Coupe in his ZR. It's one rapid car now!
Will be easy to do the swap if ya know your way round an engine bay. It was his first engine swap and bar a few electric problems, it was a sucess.
