Daddying issue - tools required

Hi,

I need to take apart one of my son's toys to try and fix it. It's a ride-on car thing.

The bolts to undo have a recessed triangle shape - a few mm across.

Does anybody know what they are called? I'm sure I can probably get a set on ebay but I don't know what to search for.

I know I can probably try and jam a torx head or something else in there but I fancy getting the correct tools if I can.

Aren't those ones the "don't undo me, I'm-a-security-bolt-never-undo-me" kind of bolt?

Drill it out, man... put a normal bolt in there for next time the toy FUBARs.

I have been tempted to drill them out but I don't have easy access to a few of the heads.

be one of a variety of anti tamper security screws not sure what the triangular ones are called

If it's just a triangular recess with no slots coming off, then it's a TP3 rather than a tri-wing.

You can buy sets of security bits for a cordless drill driver quite cheaply.

They are pretty crap and will only last one or two goes, but then that's probably all you will ever need, I have a set, used a few, the rest are there just in case.

Tri a selection of blade screwdrivers down as one may fit & remove them if they are not too tight (Same goes for torx ones)

^^^ This. I've taken apart many items with these screws with nothing more than a blade screwdriver.

If you`ve got any of those drill bit multi-packs, or bit sets etc, have a quick look in there. I needed one last years and had a look on the off chance and found hundreds of the buggers!
