Sorry if this is the wrong section but

Do cars have emotions?

Over the weekend i have been prepping one of my cars for sale. I gave it a nice wash yesterday and gave the battery a full charge as it had been sat a while. Whilst tidying the inside, i managed to spill a full bottle of stale old water i had from the gym all over my passenger seat. Lovely. 2 hours with a hairdryer, and leaving the dehumidifier in overnight cured that. Then when i fired up the little saxo, it didn't stop white smoking.. at all. Headgasket? Well no signs of mayo etc. I just let it run.. for half an hour. STILL smoking. I don't know why the car did this, but i am more than certain it was pissed off at me.

Then as i go to bed that night, i am awoken by a cry of attention. My other Saxo is promised a wash at the weekend. Unfortunately i didn't have time Saturday.. So at 1am, the alarm goes off. I go outside.. nothing seems fishy. I return inside. Again the alarm goes off just as i get into bed. PH suggests homeless TVR owners may be in my boot but i am certain the car was being mardy as it didn't get a wash.

This morning, i return to my car that i am selling. Do various checks. Everything is good. Interested party arrives and inspects the car. The car behaves!! Test drive is agree'd. Car get's to the end of the street (with the interested party at the wheel), car's PAS pump fails. WTF???!?

Saxo 1 is eventually sold to the next buyer. I "celebrate" with a trip to the cinema. Drop my mate off on the way home, he phones to state that my car has no reg plate at the rear. Yes, you guessed it, Mr Saxo decided to drop his reg plate off somewhere between my house and Castleford, about 18 miles round trip. I curse and swear, then the car develops some weird gearbox problem when engine braking (see General Gassing if you can help me on this one!). Luckily i find reg plate on way home.

WTF IS GOING ON ?!

A series of unfortunate coincidences, or do the garlic eating little sods just taking the piss out of me ?

frown

Sorry for rant, felt like i needed to take this weekend in writing!

Sadly it's the French factory workers that have the emotions.

I'd have to agree with you. My saxo seems to have 'moods'. Nothing major, just sometimes the starter motors a bit sticky, and today after admittedly thrashing it for half an hour or so, decided to freak me out by smelling quite bad. Wasn't overheating or anything though. Prob just gettin back at me lol.
