nothing wrong with the strap - I would not have wanted to do it without it.

As the bonnet lifted A foot up in the air at 150 mph, I attempted to stand up to peer through the Two inch gap left at the top of the screen. At which point, the passenger asked "Is it supposed to do that ?"

Looking for inspiration/tape, I ventured over to the nearest TVR & asked the young lad standing my by the car, if he had any tape. He did enquire as to why I walked past loads of other cars & headed for the TVR, but there was something about Paul's car that drew me towards it

I'd packed my usual supply of cable ties as A trade off, but didn't get any takers

The alarm had packed up A couple of days before, so I'd removed it & sent it off for repair. The car has subsequently started locking itself while I'm away from it. Not every time mind, just sporadically enough to make me think it's possessed by the devil.

I had to tell my mate to remind me to leave the window open before I departed the car, and I could see him longingly staring at every other vehicle wandering if their occupants were going through the same torment as us.

To top it off, the SL600 blasted past us in pure silence, with Mark the driver getting A heated massage from his seat.

Russell.I've not had any issues with my bonnet at speed, provided I've remembered to lock it down.

Have you got the little front lip spoiler?

No mate. That got scraped off about one day in to ownership. I've got A stainless steel one to put on that 'simonkd' made for me.

It's due A service soon, so I'll get them to stick it on for me.

Seriously - can't see the strap (on the Sag?), can someone point me in the right direction..?

ETA - is it that tiny black thing in-between the bonnet vents..?

Thats the one - it is not a big strap but it did a great job and was perfect for Vmax. I cover the paint in clear tape so I did not damage it.

We should of got a shot of the 3 TVRs together. Mine managed 166mph without any bonnet flapping, which i was very suprised at. Only issue i had was braking. Had a very near miss with the bank at the end of the carpark.

The braking on my first run was a nightmare. The Black Audi RS6 saw me struggling & fortunately he was very observant. Braking seemed to get easier after lunch.

I eventually managed a 168 on the left, but did an earlier 172 on the right, which I'm dismissing for my own benefit

Seems wise to take the left hand result, with the on going debate thats going on. I ran the left lane all day becuase i needed all the space i could for braking. Hopefully i will be able to attend the next one. Need a cold dry day. Would be nice to brake the 170 barrier.
