I'm thinking of treating myself to another watch after Christmas, what do you think of this?

Any opinions or alternative suggestions are more than welcome.

Haha I do seem to be drawn to Navitimer lookalikes.

I actually chose this one thinking it was a little bit different!

ETA: Wish I could afford the real deal frown

I'd go for a Seiko pilots watch if I were you, avoid the 87 quid ones IIRC the paint comes off the bezel quite easily.

This is something I've had bookmarked for a while : ://www.pilotur.dk/english/index_files/Page899.htm

Loads more : http://www.pilotur.dk/english/index_files/Page498....

In short, I think there's better choices for the same / not much more money.

Interesting, Seiko pilots were my first choice, then I moved on to looking at Citizens.

Someone here bought one of those, we were asking why the numbers were mirrored, I think we go the answer too.

Some original watches were used as artillery test watches and were used in conjunction with photography. The dials were 'mirrored' so the time could be told by the negative. There was only a small batch designated to an German Artillery testing regiment during WWII.

Not only that but seems pointless if you can't actually use the slide rule. Yes, I know most diving watches are not worn by scuba divers but at least they have the option of using the rotating bezel for other things. Telemetre and Tachymetre scales are also useful outside of firing cannons and stage 3 rocket booster... Fact is, it makes the dial look really cluttered. That said, I like the hands and the 24 hour dial.
