Fiat Panda 100hp.. Who drives them?

I've never known anyone who drives one, and I've never actually seen one back home.

What sort of people drive them, is it mainly young people?

What's the overall verdict on them from people who have driven them?

They look quite boxy, but at the same time look quite nice..

I dont know anyone who drives one, but from what i've heard there meant to be quite nice cars to drive, and reviews usually favour them. I'd imagine youngish students would drive them, they seem to be fun little cars which would be cheap to run, insure ect...

IIRC The chassis is quite similar to that of the new fiat 500's

Younger people, those that want a fun newish cheap to run car, people who have a bigger or more powerful car for weekends.

Great thing to drive but the ride isn't exactly comfortable.

They are fantastic fun, with the combination of short gearing and a terrifically revvy engine. I fuelled one of these up at work recently at the station 2 minutes down the road, and rocked up 40 minutes later with a huge grin on my face.

They find favour with young drivers too, insurance is very reasonable IIRC.

Yea, they're group 5. I'm finding it hard to come across a bad review of one..

My drive of one was fairly short, but it was enough to make me want one. The plan is to tempt Miss Robsco into one when she comes up for a change

They do handle suprisingly well!

The 'sport' button made an actual difference aswell.

As said earlier, the ride isn't very comfortable. Quite crashy and harsh.

Now i was looking at this as a replacement for the stroen, but after reading the buyers guide inlast months EVO, i dont think i'll bother. The list of potential problems isnt particularly big, just worrying

The engine coolant needs watching or it will blow the headgasket

The gearbox leaks

The front suspension units have been known to fail at quite low mileage

The rear ones tend to fall of their mounting points

The cambelt needs checking for wear at 36,000 miles, and if it is a bit iffy, then needs replacing

For something listed as a great drivers car, thats not good. I think there were a few more, but without going and reading the article, they were the main points

The predicament I'm in at the minute is to spend £Y and try to buy and insure a hot hatchback something like a Clio 197.

OR.

Use the same money, buy a Fiat Panda 100hp AND a bike..

Is that copy of EVO still for sale? I heard about that, might have to get a copy.

My (70 year old) Aunt had one for a while.

It's since been replaced by a Fiat 500, she found it a little crashy after a while.

I can fit my mountain bike in mine. What gear do you have? Never heard about half of those problems listed in EVO before now. All seems fairly solid so far (in an Italian sort of way).
