Simple things to Improve a conservatory

Morning, my new house has a small conservatory built on the side. It is about 6ft x 18ft and is of very basic construction. Eventually i want to have it made twice as big and fully intergrated into the rest of the house. However that is at least a year away cost wise so would like to do some thing now to make it into a more habital part of the house.

For example, the roof at the minute is clear plastic. Are there any alternatives to this ? A it looks rubbish and gets covered in moss very quickly.
