Things to do in Malaga when it's raining...

So, I'm booked and packed and ready to f off to Malaga for some riding with Switch-backsdh.com (my first trip abroad with my DH bike) and one of my riding buddies tells me the forecast isn't great and that it might be prudent to stay off the bike, on the days that it's bad. It seems the terrain out there doesn't lend itself to wet conditions as it's basically just slippery rock. I'm on 2.5 Minion DH Super Tacky's.

Any tips on what to do when we're out there if we're not riding? Other than the usual things like eating pizza and drinking beer?

Rain shouldnt put you of riding, sometimes it makes it more fun.
I sometimes go to astonhill when it rains as it is allot more interesting and you need more skill to stay on your bike. And if youve been theyre before, its deffo not easy in the wet with roots, mud and chalk every where.

Funny you should say that, it was my mate that mentioned about staying inside, I'll probably end up riding, Maybe borrow some Swampthings or something.

I did their XC earlier in the year which is really full on technical DH with some climbing thrown in. We had a couple of days of rain and it didn't cause us too many problems. The rock was fairly grippy really. Seems daft to go out there and not ride cos its a bit wet. At least thats what we thought.

If you have full days with nothing to do, rent a car (they'll be buttons this time of year) and get yourself off to some of the slightly further flung destinations.

Granada (for the Alhambra palace), Mijas (for the caves), Seville (for the oranges, lovely city), maybe even Gibraltar.

It was biblical one day so 6 of us stayed in 'til 3pm, watched some MTB DVD's then hit a couple of bars later on....2 went out and claimed they enjoyed it!

I've had some of the most fun riding in france in the rain, it's oversteer city, i love it. Time to hang out on the fast rolling open corner runs and avoid the technical foresty bits imo.

Pissing down as I type - I live down here and its been pretty miserable this last week. Unfortunately as its not often miserable there is not so much to do when it is!

Yes Navy is still open in Banus! as is the Stark bar in Fuengirola!
