Burning smell

Out in the Tam last night and i kept getting a whiff of burnt plastic ?
It came and went possibly noticed more went pushing on but wasn't going very quick because it was damp . I have tried to smell out the source of any problem by sniffing the boot foot-wells and under bonnet areas but nothing .
Anybody any ideas were i should look and what i am likely too find .

ps I have considered i have driven by a bonfire burning plastic , possible but unlikely .

Did you have the lights on full beam at any time?

Yes , lots of back lanes with frequent oncoming traffic ?

I got this everytime I put the high beam on, the heat from the high beam is causing the mastic that holds the lower lights in places to give off fumes, I'm guessing you have had something done to these lights recently.

It will go after a few hours of having the lights on.

No not done anything to the lights but will warm them up and see what happens .
