Replacing room thermostat with a new one

I want to replace our room thermostat with one of those honeywell CMT927 wireless jobbies.

Do I just unscrew the old one and screw the new one in place using the same wiring, or is there more to it than that?

Remove a wired one to put a wireless one in the same place using the old wires...for the new wireless one?

Anyway, to answer the question that I think you're asking. A wireless room stat comes in two halves, a room stat (transmitter) and a receiver which is normally positioned next to the boiler/ wiring centre. The wireless room stat can go where ever you like (typically 20 - 30 meters max, but walls and other objects can reduce this distance).

The receiver wiring replaces your current wired stat wiring.

If you don't want to move it's position you may as well fit a wired one.

If you're replacing a wired room thermostat, it's very easy to do it yourself, takes around 15 mins.

If its like for like, not all room stats are the same. I know its a simple DIYer job, I'm just being awkward, sorry.

Hmm, ok. I thought the wireless ones had the thermostat bit on the wall (to replace the old rotary dial stat) and a wireless display/control panel. I guess I'm wrong.

So, replacing the old stat with a wired digital programmable jobbie - just remove and replace? It's just 3 wires (plus an earth) isn't it?

Most new thermostats only use a live in and switched live out. Maybe a parking terminal for the earth, but no neutral.
