Heated door mirror

Hi, I hope someone can help me out here My drivers door mirror (XJ8 3.2 1998) is not heating although it can still be adjusted by the switch and the passenger side works as it should, any ideas or tips on how to fix with the cold weather moving in would be appreciated?

I'd guess that being 12 years old the element has probably had it. Try plugging the glass from the other side in to the harness and see if that heats up. If it does, then a new glass is required. If not, something in the wiring.
