Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying a Garmin 3790t but want to mount it on a vent mount. Can you charge the unit in the car without it sitting in the screen mount cradle?

See http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rapid-Auto-Charger-Garmin-...

An AC charger with cable is also available.

Another option is a Brodit Pro-Clip to fit your car followed by the Brodit "Garmin Ball" to which you attach the mount that was supplied with the 3790T, works a treat for me, don't forget there is a speaker actually inside the 3790T mount and without this is rather difficult to hear in a moving car - Mike

I run the power cable cable/ RDS lead through the air vent and connect it to a ciggy socket I burried behind the dash, this means no wires on show even if you do have to cut a hole in the air pipe feeding the vent to get the cable through - Much neater installation than having spagheti strewn all over the dash and the RDS feed aerial is spliced in to the car aerial so that gets a very good signal even though its out of sight - Mike
