My wife, I and our toddler were thinking of renting a place in the south of France for a week or so over Christmas.

Does anyone have any recommendations on places? It would be a base for a week and so am looking for somewhere that would allow day trips (by car) to see things of interest etc rather than being stuck in the back of nowhere.

Equally, anyone here actually rent them out since would prefer to give the business to a fellow PH'er if possible.

Thanks in advance

Anyone at all?

We are looking at Loire Valley area now if that helps (due to i) transit time to the south of France by car and ii) 6 litre V12 + 100 litre fuel tank means that would be cheaper to hire a TGV!)

you want the Riviera experience ?

just stay anywhere from cannes to nice

my fave places are Juan Les Pins and St. Paul de Vence

Vence is very romantic for a couple

nothing is cheap down there though but it still has class
