BBK engine request

Hello all,
Although this is my first post within the Gassing station it is an important one, well, to me anyway.

I have been searching for an Audi S4 BBK engine for some time but I have not been able to source a good one. After a few days I was pointed here after being told that some of you Ultima owners have been using it in your cars.

This leads me to my request. Does anyone have a known, good, low mileage BBK engine that is not in use and you would rather have the cash in your pocket?

If so then please let me know.
I have been the victim of a very unfortunate car purchase and I am now left with a very expensive dead weight on my drive

I had looked on there and I was surprised to see that they are quoting prices a good £1000 dearer than others I had seen sold over here with similar mileage. You would also have to factor in shipping, which I would iagine would be horrendous.

I'm not ruling it out at all but I would have to know who they were and some of the background from the donor car, that's not so easy when it's in a different country.

My first choice would be a UK engine, but I'll see if I can get in contact with one of these German ones just in case.

There is also an Audi V8 in the Ultima Parts Classifieds on here although it doesn't state if its a BBK.

Excellent news! thank you very much. I have passed the details over to the garage near me that I have asked to do the work.

I have been looking in classifieds but this is very new and I missed it this Morning.
We'll see how this goes.

Unfortunately that one in the Ultima classifieds is a no go. I'm told it is from an A8 and so this has a different engine code and is not suitable.

The serach goes on and it must be a BBK engine to match the B6 S4 from about 2001 to 2004/5.

Hello all,
I'm getting desparate now. The lack of an engine to be found is not making me very happy and I've been without the car for far too long.

I have covered all the breaker sites and specialists but all I get offered is either 'recon units' or offers for repairing mine, which is simply not worth the effort given the cost of the parts plus the labour involved.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent low mileage Audi S4 BBK engine? I have money ready for the right unit.

i have found 4 engines in german ebay, 2 with 70k kilometers around 3500 euro, you will need to send them your old engine though, I can help you arrange the shipping

It's not a silly question at all but I have already posted this request on the VW Audi forum.

I have seen the ones on German e-bay but as you say most require my old engine and you are also faced with the language barrier and the vastly increased cost over other units that I know have sold over here with similar mileage.

If I could get one for more realistic money over there I would definitley consider it but there are far too many 'what ifs' concerned with foreign transactions.
