Insurance help please.
Discussion
From discussions with insurers in the past, I think it's the second SP30 that's done it (depends where you live and if you're garaged etc of course).
Hope you find a bargain. I use Sunninghill and have had amazingly good service and rates(lower than most that quote on here), but not sure that they're still available for new customers.
Too many single-vehicle accidents in the last 18 months I'm afraid

Just been through the same process myself...
30 - 5yrs NCB - No conv. - EC1
Sunninghill just didn't work any magic this year for me at all. Best quote was double last years ...
'Twas therefore down to Tesco - End result: £1100
I followed up on each of the recent insurance threads and have gone through umpteen on-line applications at each revalation of finding the "cheapest". At the end of the day, I reckon the largest element of the premium was the post-code (especially when there's quotes of £400 / £500 appearing on various threads).
Advice from Sunninghill's was that the Direct market did not place as much importance on post-codes when calculating premiums ... Personally, I take this with a pinch of salt, as I'd expect the specialist insurances to look more at vehicle marque / owner history etc. whereas, run-of-the-mill outfits work with more objective based facts (price / post-code / overnight-location).
However, at the end of the day, obviously the Directs were cheaper for me this instance ! Maybe there is some credibility in the advice ... ?
The range of quotes received was quite ridiculous. Nearest to Tesco was almost £2k. Worst quote was almost £4k ...
Seems to me (IMHO), that it's well worth building together a list combining both specialist insurers and hitting the on-line pages for the high-streets. I haven't worked out a fast track to getting this done quickly AND I lost the TVR Insurance list that I compiled last year - my token effort at speeding up the experience ...
In summary, your quote looks ok to me ... however, I may be paying over the odds in the 1st place ... !

I've got a 2001 cerbera 4.5LW which I insured for £35000. I'm 30 with 5 years NCB and 1 SP30 (3 points). Insured with A Manning UK. I pay £885.00 at the moment with a £500 xs but with a ride drive under my belt it would be reduced by £100.00
I think that's quite cheap, so give them a try. Also covers TVRCC trackdays and events.
Cheers

Hi there, the best insurance quote I have been able to get is £1,195.00 from Norwich Union direct!
Can anyone recommend some Cerb specialists?
My details are
26 years old
7 years NCB
6 points (2xSP30)![]()
is the Norwich quote about right? I will pay it but would rather not.
Duncan
Sounds a good quote to me. The only thing that will reduce it is a tracker and garage.
Cerbie450 - Do you have to do a full Ride Drive course to get the insurance reduction? I'm thinking of doing a half-day lesson soon don't suppose my insurers will take that into consideration?
These guys are supposed to be good too :www.1stlotus.co.uk/intro.htm
I did forget to mention that the car has a tracker monitor and is garaged. I have had a full alarm system installed in the garage just in case. Doesn't reduce the insurance though. Just for my benefit.
On the ride drive course. I am doing a £120 half day with the nwkent club at the end of may and when I spoke to Matthew and A Manning, as long as I get written conformation regarding what I have done then that's fine. It doesn't have to be a full day.
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!
