Worst actual MPG on a daily driver
Discussion
OK, so plenty of people on PH have a V8 special in the garage, but use their 50mpg euro hack for the daily grind - and very sensible too.
But I want to hear about some real life MPG on every day daily drivers. Not what the book says it could or should be, but what are you actually getting.
I'll kick off - I borrowed the wifes Lexus last night and happened to toggle through the menus as I was waiting in a queue on a forecourt...
Actual MPG for her daily driver read: 15.8mpg

What engine does the Lexus have, is it a Hybrid????
No. It's a 2002 RX300 so...What engine does the Lexus have, is it a Hybrid????
3.0 V6 petrol
4x4 gubbins and loads of electrics to lug around
4-speed slush box
Weight and aerodynamics similar to a bungalow
Only really used in urban rush hour
Damn comfy though

Anyone using an Evo as a daily in a city must be in with a shout with winning this one. I'm sure they spray petrol into the air for fun as well as into the engine given the rate at which they consume the stuff.
Mine used to manage 17mpg. On SUL, that's expensive. Now commute in a 1.1 shopping trolley.I'll doubt anyone will beat the old man. Commute from Surrey to Central London in a G55 AMG.
I did the run once and averaged 7.1mpg... and that was on the optimistic trip computer
ETA - I should add he claims to get 13 out of it, but I drive it regularly and I can only manage that being gentle on a long run.

Taking the crown in the small engine N/A category, when I started driving my Ford Fiesta 1.3L it had not done more than 50 miles in the previous year, so it was up to me to get it run in from it's period of non-use. The first couple of tanks of petrol went at about 24mpg, which is dreadful when you think about it!
