I'm softening to the big ugly brute and can feel the urge taking over the more I look at the whole car (i.e. the amazing interiors) paperbag

Please talk me out of it...

Just buy a normal 5 series. No, wait. Wait until January and buy one. Then it'll be behind mine on the line in Dingolfing smile

Well, buy one if you so wish, I'm sure there are far worse cars out there.

Just be prepared to lip read other motorists saying "WTF is that..." whilst involuntarily wearing the following facial expression:

IMO its one of the best looking BMW's currently on sale. I'd even go as far as saying top 3.

I've seen the new standard 5 series on the road and it looks like the predecessor to the old one!

Nasty bland design. Couldn't have done it worse. Well actually they could have it look like a 1-series but its not far off in the fugly stakes.

I like BMW stuff, but there's no overlooking the XF, it looks superb.

You think the E39 looks like the F10?

Lets have a quick recap:
E39

F10

Sorry, I don't agree with you.

Sorry, I don't agree with you.
That's because you didn't understand which one the predecessor was, which is this:
