Builder/Sparky Question

Got a new electricity supply coming to a flat and the supply company have contacted me with some things I need to have done prior to the supply
The main one is that they need a hole dug from our property down 450mm and a 38mm ducting put there so that they can take the supply up to the meter position (behind the front door)
He's described this to me as being a very simple thing that any builder will have no problem doing. The builder is coming to do it this week and although he said no problem, he keeps asking me questions about it.
So has anyone a got guidance PDF of what the supply companies require? I did ask the guy there but he said they didn't have anything like that. Just a simple diagram will suffice.
I know the best solution is to find a builder who knows what to do straight off but I trust this guy and i'm on a timescale!
