I'm tired and it's been a long day but I couldn't see this anywhere else on here (not looked hard to be fair!). Looks like a welcome addition to the calender:

Well yes, but I can't help thinking that for a weekend in the middle of summer, I'd rather have a full championship round than a nostalgia meeting with a few limited classes racing. The claim has always been that the summer weekends were needed for lifestyle events to bring in revenue, which helps fund the racing for the rest of us. But will a nostalgia racing weekend really bring in that many people? Maybe it will, but it's not leaping out at me as being a big money spinner. I assume the people in charge at Santa Pod have a better grasp of the numbers than I do, but intuitively, I wouldn't have expected it to be a good use of a summer weekend.

Tet. The Pod have cast an envious eye over the Nostalgia events held at Shakespear County Raceway and decided they want some of that. Have you been? The Place is rammed

That's my worry, I hope people will not favour this over the original Nostalgia Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway just three weeks earlier and I don't want to rock and boats here either so ease the springs on any cocked weapons please boys and girls.

i think it looks like a great event! i've really enjoyed the hot rod drags and nostalgia nats. i love being able to see many of the cars not seen for years, most of which i saw as a kid with my dad. hte new builds like two much etc are awesome! nostalgia is growing in popularity (check out the states meets) and why not have one here at the pod too? for the guys who've put all their efforts into the restoration/build of these cars, it's a another great meet! now please add the nostalgia funny cars and happy days!

Can't wait! Looks like an awesome event, be nice to have a nostalgia meeting with all nostalgia classes running (possibly championship rounds as well) on a fully prepped track, no offense to Shakey but as much fun as HRD's and Nostalgia Nats are the track is predominantly RYWB.

We'll be there for sure with the altered.

I think a nostalgia event at the Pod can only be a good thing. The trouble with Shakey is, as nice and welcoming as all the people are there, the safety isn't really good enough for running fast cars, the shut down has large bump, one car I know of almost ended on its side (only the headers kept it rubber side down), and the fact armaco is still there rather than concrete barriers. Shame really as the track itself is really good.

Dragstalgia can only be a good thing in my mind, Santa Pod the home of british drag racing holding an nostalgia event.

Maybe scr will raise there game, unlikely but who knows. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Don't forget to raise a cheer for Jerry Cookson and keep supporting SCR. Jerry put's an awful lot of his own time and effort organizing meeting's at Shakespeare County Raceway with very little money and for little or no reward. It's people like him that keep bringing new blood into Drag Racing. I just hope SCR and Jerry continue to do so.
