went to a trackday last week here at the algarve autodromo. (awesome circuit).

Its now a definate me me to get an out and out TD car and store it here.

i was looking at another radical SR4

my other consideration is an aerorace westfield with a lightly modified reliable 2.3duratec.

Just wondering what you guys would build for say up to £15k

Maybe have a look at some kitcar race results? Sylva stuff seems to do well as does (did?) STM. Do you want wings or to keep it more old school? I think I would go bike engined for track only at £15k...

If you want to build yourself from a kit of parts a trackday car for £15k then I would definately suggest going for a bike engined car, £15k should build you a nice vehicle. MK, RAW Striker / Phoenix / Fulcrum or Fisher Fury spring to mind as these compainies know BECs inside out and you will have virtually off the shelf parts to choose from. The Fury now can even be supplied with a Honda S2000 chassis option which is awesome ( my mate is buildingone at the moment and thinks it will sneak under his £15k budget) just! buying secondhand opens up a whole different world and for that money I would be looking a Caterham SuperlightR or R300. Bu then you are looking at a mint MK, striker, Phoenix or Fury for under £10k secondhand which you could take apart and rebuild to your style with no IVA worries. Nice dilema to be in though! And echo as above, when considering these types of car research what has been compettetive in race championships like the 750mc RGB or kitcar series to see what cuts the mustard on track.

the circuit is around 2miles away and along a (decent) makeshift rubble type road for me.

thanks for the replies to date and will research the cars mentioned.

maybe we can also add "what would you buy for £15k for a track car" as not really looking to build but will if need be..

I had a passenger ride in a westfield 1.6zetec at the circuit which was great fun but a whole different ride / experience to my ol radical.....

must admit i would defo go for a winged type sports car but the increase in trailer / storage / logistics / etc etc is hard work...let alone the potential to get down the makshift road here to the circuit.......

Just edited this post as I did not realise you used to have a radical! Are you asking what kitcar alternatives there are to a Radical for £15k.? A bile engined 7 / Fury'esque will handle so differently to a winged monster,. But if you do have £15k to spend I think I'd be looking at another Radical...
