I wouldn't even hit it with Jimbeaux's - she scares me as much as Dinnerjacket or Kim Jong Il.

I agree, but in all honsty this is a non-story. So she said "North" instead of "South", so what? I think this proves that she's become Dan Quale for the 21st Century. It doesn't matter what she says, from now on she'll be seen as the comic relief.

I like the comments sections, especially the contributor DancingBear:

"Heaven help the rest of the world if this woman ever ends up in power. I am a girl, woman, but it is NOT a job for a female. Cast your mind back to Margaret Thatcher, that was a disgraceful time for this country - that in a bigger scale for the United States would have disasterous consiquences. Someone who can't tell the difference between North and South Korea is dangerous enough with a cleaning job never mind running a country."

There's always someone that blames everything on Thatcher!! rolleyes

However, to address a couple of points.......

...oh, yes, like a ginger step-child!! evillick

Also, it is really a good idea to have a female Dubbyer, the male version was a fkin nightmare when he gained that much power!! frown

Never ever give power (of any sort) to a Banjo player!

Its just a slip of slip of the tongue, shes probably got mild dyslexia/dyspraxia.

No one gave Gordon Brown a hard time when he accidently said he 'saved the world'

Shes just seen as fair game.

He was openly laughed at by his peers, on telly and was on the news etc...

The left are trying very hard to discredit Sarah Palin. The reason? Because they're afraid she may be looking like a good alternative to them; it seems the American public don't like the move to the left and I don't blame them. As said above, Brown made enough gaffs, but they were usually ignored by the left wing media.

You could actually tell apart who was laughing at Gordon for what? Blimey, I just went with the general collective laughter smile

As for Palin...doh. It wont bother her one bit though, it will play much more with the foreign audience than her domestic one. The woman is political golddust, sprinkle here, sprinkle there and suddenly the whole thing is a lot more shiny.

Her problem on the actual getting elected side per se for her is that she hasnt learn her lesson from the last time. She has worked even harder on her golddust side, but neglected what caused her grief, she just plays even harder to her strengths now. If she had gone away and worked on her ignorance, worked on foreign affairs, worked on general wider knowledge then she could have come back and she would absolutely blow the Democrats away. Given the amount of savvy surrounding her in general with her political machine, Im actually suprised they havent done this. If you put a knowledgeable Sarah Palin in front of the American electorate then Obama would be toast and it would be landslide toast. The same "ignorant hick" Palin and her same deficiences are on show to count against her. She is a show horse politician, not a statesman which is a shame as she has some qualities that would make her an excellent statesman.

She will never be nominated for President. Even the Republican Party aren't that dumb. However, with the influence she holds with the electorate, she will have a big say in who gets to be nominated.

Remember, in an interview with Beck she actually stated that as a species we are "fallen" and should all get back on the one true path to God. I'm guessing one word she knows the meaning of is "crusade"...

I agreed that she would have been more of a danger to the left (if such a thing truly exists in the USA) if she had been/was smarter. But can't really agree that she has any merits as a Statesman. She certainly hasn't shown any diplomacy, humility and foresight yet. Simply pandering to a lowest common denominator does not a statesman make.

Why not, our leaders have been doing exactly that for the last 14 years or so.

I know the tories laughed, but with the subsequent reporting all i remember was the talking Heads on BBC (Nick Robinson et al) getting all guardian discussion chin stroking like and saying maybe its not such a bold assertion afterall. Maybe he did save the world.

Their sickening deifying of Brown was barely concealed, even in the face of Browns bumbling way. They did it with the Bigot incident too, trying to justify the unjustifiable. Thankfully at least some of the country didnt fall for it.
