Crossover decat pipes

Saw a Cerbera last weekend with crossover decat pipes installed as part of a bespoke exhaust system, speaking to the installer they're more regularly fitted to Skylines/GTR's, but does anyone else have them. I don't want to start a debate about the various types of decat pipes, just interested to know if anyones got them and what if any advantage / disadvantages they had found.

I have an SP Exhaust system fitted and that has linked de-cat pipes. Apparently the theory on the AJP V8 is that linked de-cats are a bad thing because essentially we have 2 4 cylinder engines bolted together and we should leave them well alone, and linking the exhaust interferes with the exhaust pulses. I think it was Jools who discovered that linking them actually helped with power outputs. There is another school of thought that believes that linking the exhausts causes a scavenging effect on the 2 rear most cylinders and this can lead to engine damage. If you decide you want them, then you should only fit them if you get an engine re-map.

These pipes were different to the linked type created by Joo and fitted to my car also - the pipes linking the exhaust pipes literally formed a cross as opposed to linking at 90 degrees - i guess the theory behind them is that by running in the general direction of main pipes they won't interrupt the flow of gas exiting the car!!!

Any one can ask a Custom exhaust fabricator to make them up, but unless you really know what your doing I'd steer clear of them, and stick with ones that have been proven to work.
