I make homebrew and will be making a new batch tomorrow, all my grolsch bottles have been sat for awhile and are covered in dust and a few have a little sediment still stuck in the bottom.

Rather than spend the next 2-3 hours bending over the bath tub with 40 bottles and a bottle brush, i am contemplating squirting a blob of bleach in each bottle and chucking them in the dishwasher.

I may add that the dishwasher was bought solely for the purpose of washing and sterilising the bottles in question.

Just DON'T.

I once used bleach in a dishwasher and the resulting foam was a disaster. Only used a bit as well.

Just use normal tablets and it will be fine. Honest.

If you want to, only use a thin bleach. The thick stuff will froth up like nobodies business!

I went ahead and did it before jumping back on here to check, i did open the door half way through the cycle and the foam had me worried a little. laugh

Lucky enough for me the dishwasher is plumbed in in a side room from the kitchen into the old toilet overflow that currently just ends up in my back garden.
