05 Focus 1.6 petrol t-stat location?

As above chaps. on this here Duratec jobbie, I assumed it would be under the coil pack as usual but there is an alloy casting there that does not look like it would hold a stat, there is however a plastic housing under the alternator that looks like the troublesome earlier version.

Am I correct in thinking this is where the stat lives now? it looks like the alternator belt has no tensioner either so must be one of the newer stretchy type ones.

If anyone can clear this up or point me in the direction of a nice post somewhere I would be most greatful.
