Looking at garage door for new garage which has just been built. Am being recommended Hormann Sectional steel door fully electrified. Have been given two options EPU40 which is double skinned and 20mm ad LPU40 which is double skinned and 40mm. EPU is coming out at £2K and LPU40 £2.5K both fitted. Need to see what alternatives there are as had £1.5K in the budget so need to save a bit of money. Any suggestions? Size is 3658mm x 2125mm

These chaps are PHers, and they do a fantastic job. They fitted a door for me a couple of months ago, and it's really good. We had a quote for the same door costing twice as much from another company, too.

I'm just having a oak coloured wood grain effect insulated roller door (electric) two fobs, security light and beam installed for £1300 from 1stclassrollerdoors.

Just to give you an idea on costs.

I don't know your garage size, but £2.5k seems a bit steep possibly?

Try the PHers!

I had a Hormann double skinned sectional door fitted on my self build a few weeks ago, cost was approx £1430 net of vat. Two remotes etc, cracking piece of kit, well worth the money IMO. My door's smaller than yours, obviously.

Here's a pic. (Ignore the nice temporary front door...)

Hi, just had a Hormann LPU40 8670 (factory cut down height) M-Ribbed style 42mm insulated steel sectional garage door with decograin finish. Power courtesy of a Hormann SupraMatic garage door opener. Supplied and fitted - £1900. Deffo worth having the fully insulated for security and the benefit of reduced heat loss.

Company - Mansfield Garage Doors - 01623 621999. I would highly recommend this company - very experienced fitters (been with the company 25 years).

Also looked at the Secureglide roller shutter type garage door. imo looked a bit too commercial

eta - i think the 8640 refers to the width of the door in mm. Not double width, but wider than a standard single door.

Certainly recommend the Hormann doors and openers - put one on myself on my new build 2 years ago - never had a moments bother with it! Check to see how much the supply only is - they're dead easy to fit!
