New Wheels and solid roof !!!

Well, new to me anyway...
bought some 15" Imola wheels from a guy in Halifax yesterday and they look great, just need centres and I will be putting Conti Contact 2's on them and they will be replacing my OZ 8 spokes asap... no more polishing alloy wheels for me !
Anyway, main reason for post is that the guy I bought them off was featured in Sprint a few months ago doing solid roofs for Chim's. He showed me around his workshop at some WIP and a few finished parts as well as the roof on his car and they looked great. He has no intention of getting involved with S's as there would not be sufficient demand to justify the tooling he said, but what a great product he has, very very neat and as he has covered the outer with the same material as the folding roof, it looked 100% original on the Chim. he also had a gloss finished rear section which would make his Chim look like a Cerbie I think.
anyway, just for general interest, although he also does small fibreglass repairs which might be of interest to anyone in that general area ? ... he was a nice guy and his work looked great. He doesnt post on PH but is known on TVRCC forums.
TVR ownership is membership of a great community I think.

I saw the painted roofed version at BNG last year (the one in the Lakes with torrential rain). At first it didn't click that it was a Chim. I was just walking around it trying to work out what was odd about this Cerb, then it finally clicked that it was a Chim. Wasn't the best day to be looking in detail at it, but it did look nice.
It's one thing I've considered about looking into for the S if I ever get some spare money (after doing all the other things that are needed for it first). Having just spent a fortune to have a new roof, I don't like having to leave the car outside to get sand blasted by the weather here in Blackpool, or having to put a cover on that then gets blown and rubbed all over the roof/body work.
There is an S that runs in the Sprint races with a hard top.
I think this is a Tuscan race car hardtop, that I believe TET Moldings have the mold for.
Does anyone know anything about this car or know the owner to find out about it?

Yep, thats the man Russ... those panels are really light but strong as well... as one piece you would not get one in an S boot eh ? pretty sure this S stuff was all discussed when he did his Sprint article 
I think I would be interested in a bolt-on-for-winter hardtop to save all that putting away and getting back out mularchy though... like an MX5 arrangement...
I reckon I could be tempted to pay as much as £50... maybe ?

That was my thinking, just use for the winter months, the car doesn't get used that much over winter and if I take the roof off I never take it with me if I'm only going out for a drive around the Fylde area, if it rains I get wet. I reckon I could be tempted to pay as much as £50... maybe ?

I can vouch for Steve Edwards' skills - I bought the TVR S3 that is shown on his website being restored. The quality of the workmanship is great and the car looks fantastic. He is also a nice guy to deal with. Hopefully I won't need any repairs to my car but if it did sustain any accident damage I would take it back to Steve in Halifax - and I live near Warwick!
