how to lay up a cerb

Have put the cerb away for the winter but was wondering if I should start it up every week ore just keep the charger on. I have heard it said that unless you can warm the car up,. just starting it could result in damage due to bore wash. Will only be able to drive it down the lane and back as it will be on layed up insurance only. Would like some advice please chaps.

Mines been in storage since August and will most likely stay there until May next year (in Germany now and the snowy season is just starting!). I would remove the battery altogether - no need to start the engine every so often as it doesn't acheive anything. I've jacked mine up on axle stands to take the weight off the tyres - stops them deforming over time if the car isn't moved for a long time. A car cover is also a good idea.

how did you disconnect the battery without the back up siren going daft mate i tried to pull the plugs of but still goes daft

Ah, I ripped that thing out a long time ago. My anti-theft device is a secretly located battery master switch so no alarm required. With a battery master key (like what they use in motorsport), when the key is removed ALL electrics are disabled. Good luck to anyone who can start a Cerb with no battery power!!!

I just disconected mine with the car being unlocked and the alarm off and no siren.

hopefully my plan tomorrow, one last wash, connect battery charger and put cover on, if the weather is dry and salt free anytime then i'll go for a spin.

You need to jack up the drivers side and turn the siren off using the key. You need to reach in between the wheel and the arch to do this.

To lay up a Cerb what you first need to do is to book as many winter track days as possible. Then take it out and use it the way it was designed as often as possible.

Well that is my plan, will let you know in the spring if it works.

Thanks guys, have put cover on plus accumate and de-humidifier. She can now sleep till spring.
