It's that time of year when the missus starts to ask awkward questions about what I'd like for Christmas. The suggestion of an Alfa 8C competitizione was met with a withering look that I'm not keen to repeat, so I'm casting around for sensible ideas instead.

Given that I have never been able to get on with those bluetooth headsets, partly cos they are unconfortable and partly because I cringe at the idea of looking like a low-rent security guard, I was wondering does anyone have any experience of the sun visor mounted hands free bluetooth thingies? It would be nice to be able to use the phone in the car. I've heard good things about the parrot systems and whilst full integration would be nice, as my 944 is on the market atm it would be silly to look to get anything that was permanently attached to the car. So does anyone have any feedback, good or bad, on any specific bluetooth hands free kits?

Alternatively, does anyone have a good suggestion for a motoring related pressie with a maximum cost of about £40/50?

While it's not wonderful it's ok for the money

Movon Mk10

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p519...

Had this a while now but there are more up-to-date models. It clips onto the visor and can be easily unclipped and attached to another car.

I bought it because it I can easily move it from car to car and it is extremely easy to use. No faffing around when you get in the car. Once set up and paired with your phone(s) simply turn on your phone bluetooth and turn the Movon on by swinging down the screen and viola! Connected.

Sound is fine and not had any connection problems. It has an internal battery that can be recharged from cigar lighter socket and battery charge seems to last pretty well. Only problem was the clip which held it on the visor needed slight modification (cutting the turned up end off which was stopping the visor sitting fully back up out of the way) and that it is slightly heavy and the visor is either fully up or fully down. Current models may be better now. Would highly recommend a Movon.

Have heard good things about the Parrot but have no direct experience of them.

I use a Supertooth Buddy (great product, silly name!) which works a treat, great battery, recharges on micro USB so I can use my BB charger if required, good and clear. Team it up with Drivesafe.ly if you've got a Blackberry to read SMS and emails to you and away you go.
