Avoid the first ones which tend to have a few gremlins ('54/'05 Plates). The specs between the different models changed for the most part year on year. One year it was standard, the next it was an option so very difficult to know. e.g. rear aircon. Others might know the exact trims for each model. The HSE is top of the line, spec decreasing through to SE, XS, GS.
I owned a 2008.5MY HSE which went to the soft touch leather and lost the rear air-con but gained other bits. Awesome car, you can't ever need more space than the D3 offers. The 6 speed auto is lovely and it is very quiet at 70mph+ on the m/way and of course can go up a mountain anytime you want.

Thanks for the feedback.
I test drove a 2007 HSE this morning and was very pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I was expecting it to be a very low-rent version of Mrs Whoami's FFRR.
However, it went very well , was a nice place to sit and was generally a very nice car.
Okay, it wasn't quite up to the standard of the RR (a bit slower, harsher ride and slightly lower quality interior materials) but for the cash, a credible alternative.
Going to see another tomorrow then will make a decision.
Am definitely going to have the ECU "improved" as I had a chance to drive one today and it was noticeably quicker.
