Before 10am this morning and with the temperature still only at a refreshing -1 my car had been washed, leathered, polished and hoovered. All completed outside, no namby pamby garages here!
Got some odd looks from the neighbours, particularly the ones frantically scraping the ice of their windscreen while I cheerily hosed mine down. Not sure if I'm losing the plot or am a proper petrol head.
Hell of a way to get rid of a hangover though!

Visited my folks yesterday and their neigbour was busy hosing his car down. By 4pm the pavement and road outside his house was like an ice rink for unsuspecting pedestrians. Very thoughtful of him I thought!
Done on my own property mate, no slippery pavements to see here!Could be a bit of a shock for any uninvited guests up the drive though! Hope its jehovahs witnesses

I've got two cars to do this weekend!
1) Daily drive. Empty out (full of crap) Vacuum clean. Clean inside and outside windows. Remove sticker residue, wash, dry, polish and wax. Fit top cover.
2) Cerb. Clear out insides. Vacuum clean. Clean inside and outside windows. Wash, dry and wax. Fit full car cover.
BRRrrrrrrr!

Dedicated. I chickened out of washing the car in this weather, but all the salt slowly eating away at the wheelarches can't be ignored. So I, for the first and hopefully last time, took it up town to one of those car washing places. They didn't do a horrendous job, in fairness to them.
Op you may well find that what you have done today is a classic mistake.
See i did this beginning of this year as well. Granted i was lazy and went to a car wash which does an undercar wash as well as bodywork to try get rid of as much salt as possible. I then drove a mile home and parked the car up till the next morning.
Next morning went out to the car pressed the button grabbed the door handle and promptly almost ended up on my arse as my hands simply slipped off the door handle.
I then spent the next five minutes trying to work out how to get into my car the doors to which had frozen shut overnight.
From this i have learned either A: dont wash your car in sub zero temps or B: if you do wash it take it for a fair old drive to dry off afterwards.

Daft ideas always make sense when drunk.

I fancy washing mine here now, but unfortunately I have no means to doing so. It'll have to wait until the Xmas holidays...
. Or both.
