2010 Focus 1.6 TDCi - Engine Malfunction
Discussion
Driving into town yesterday in the Daily Hack - Focus Econetic 2010/60 plate with about 3000 miles on the clock - and I got an Engine Malfunction error & beep - then the power dropped.
I pulled over, and it sounded like a bag of spanners, so I turned it off and left for a few seconds and when I restarted it seemed fine.
I drove another couple of miles and it did it again, but this time only a momentary power drop and warning, then it felt fine again (but kept the warning up).
Off and on again, and it seems fine now. I'd been driving for a good 10 miles by the time it started doing it, so the engine should've been warm enough by then, despite the cold.
Any ideas?

Just got it back, there was a fault code for low fuel pump pressure, so they cleared the fault code and said 'finished'.
I was told initially the code meant they had to ring 'Technical', and was serious - so it went from serious to not important overnight.
I'm not convinced, but I've got it back and will see how long until it happens again.

Well, died on me today dangerously when I was mid overtake.
Rang Lease company and told them to take it away, and not bring it back till it's fixed.
AA man came out and said it's the 3rd one of that engine (Peugeot he said) that he's seen this week with a fuel pressure fault - sounds like dodgy batch.
Taken away on a low loader, and I have an Insignia SRi to use for the moment, seems relatively nice - if a little stiff and sharp for a cruiser.
