Hi peeps..Went out this morning..Car wont start..There is a spark but it seems no petrol is getting through..I think it might be the pump..It done this the other day but then after about 3/4 hr it decides to start?..This morning however it has flattened a brand new battery and didnt even cough once..Friday when it happened i checked fuses and on putting the 30amp(third down)back in i noticed a small spark from the board,Checked it this morning and nothing... any suggestions...many thanks..Zig

Sticky run/start relay could be a possibility. Try running a jumper back to the fuel pump or use a jump box on it and see it it starts.

Cheers mate..Just charged battery..Changed 30amp fuse...bounced the car up and down..Could hear petrol..Turned the key and nearly started..Gave it another bounce about and nearly started again..It leads me to believe its out of petrol even though i can hear a little bit sploshing around..I did loose quite alot yesterday when i was trying to sort out the horrendous leak..I had to rip out the trim that the seat belt goes through as time was of the essence and it was getting in the way and tangling up..The whole car got saturated..It was even dripping out of the front onto the front wheel..There was a puddle inside behind seat and i think its gonna ruin the fibreglass as it soaked right through..My hands are still stinging from it..I was gonna walk to the local garage but its too flipping cold out plus me mate is popping over soon so ill cadge a lift off him...Fingers crossed..Many thanks..zig

Let all the petrol dry out first before using it!

My old 280 would sometimes refuse to start, or just die while out.

It was one of the fuses poorly connected on the fuse board (old black wire type).

Thanks chaps...could be electrics mate..i did notice a wurring when i replaced the 30amp fuse,It also made a little spark when fitting and i mean small like arching between the fuse holder..Maybe do with a re-wire later on...There was a previous post that mentioned sudden cutting out and then starting again, Will have to back track..More worried about the fuel leak,Wont know if its stopped untill i put more petrol in tomorrow although im not gonna fill up just in case...Ive already lost £90 to the elements..What a senseless waste..cheers..Mark.

You can check fuel (Fuel pressure) at the pressure regulator.
Loosen, hold cloth underneath, if wet, you have fuel.

This fuel leak sounds bad......return line?

Cheers chaps...The leak is being caused by slight damaged to the main inlet where the filler neck joins to tank..Its not the best design in the world but i would of thought the garage could of made it a bit better by tapping the edge out a little..Theres only about an inch which to fit pipe to and half of it on one side is bent inwards..I should of had a closer look at the pics that dwgriffith sent as you can see it clearly and should of mentoned it to garage..I dont want to disturb it again and am thinking that when i put the car in to dan taylor for wheel alignment ill let him sort it..Just need some more 2" fuel hose (£42 per metre)...

You can see the damaged edge..Its a shame you cant get the pipe over more than an inch as there is a hole in the fibreglass which it pokes through but so tight you cant slide pipe up,If id known would of cut some of the hole out to make bigger..cheers..zig
