Buzzer and display reading 'Warning oil temp -1'
Discussion
Now I know it's brass monkeys out there but I've never had the buzzer and display reading 'warning oil temp -1'. I wasn't sure what the best policy was, should I let it idle until the warning goes off or drive straight off as usual and keep below 2500 rpm until the temp starts to rise?
Mike,
Just been out in mine, and had exactly the same.
I just let it idle for a 2-3 mins period and then drove off being even more circumspect with the revs.
Did you get the frost warning every 30 seconds....I'd like to disable this alarm! After all, most folk are aware of the external temperature, and don't need reminding so frequently.

No, I only got the buzzer and warning oil temp -1 display for the first few minutes. I gave it a few revs and let it idle for a minute before driving slowly off. The buzzer soon stopped but I drove very gingerly for the 3 miles home. The engine was at 45 by the time I got home. Just a little wary on start up at these temps.Just been out in mine, and had exactly the same.

For my numpty benefit, how do you turn off/down the Frost warning i.e. which option under which menu?
I know there is a function to turn down the volume of the buzzer which was going with my warning oil temp. I'm not sure if the frost warning that has been mentioned is the same thing. The buzzer is the one that goes off when you have the indicators on etc. It is under volume on the dash pod menu however my car is an early mk1 and your's is a mk2, so would probably be different.Same warning here - normal in these freezing conditions.
I drove off without idling and kept to normal warming up cycle. Engine never got above 60 degrees, but drive like a cautious thing in these conditions anyway.
Not found a way of turning off the annoying 'Ice' popup warning text, just turned down the buzzer volume. Can it be done?
